Happy Halloween!

Image
Happy Halloween! We loved seeing everyone all dressed up for costume day. We had fun playing with "Monster Goo". Mr. Orr came to read us a story and we joined the virtual Mayor Storytime event. Take a look at the pictures below.

Cutting Practice

We have a new centre in Kindergarten. It is called the "hair" cutting centre. We love cutting along the dotted lines to give out fun haircuts to these silly faces.

Math Bins

Image
Today we started Math Bins in class. We all get a turn with each bin to practice different math skills. We practice making patterns out of snap cubes. We use whiteboard markers to trace over numbers 1-5. We make patterns using pattern sticks and colourful ponytails. We count out numbers 1-6 using pop-it 10 frames. We count out numbers 1-6 using clothes pins and pom poms. Pinching a clothes pin helps us build hand and finger strength. That will help us when colouring and writing. I have attached a picture of each bin for you to see. Ask your child what their favourite bin is!

Turkey Art

Image
We made turkeys for Thanksgiving! We practiced our colouring by using markers and our twistable crayons. We used water droppers to soak up water from our cups and dropped the water onto our coffee filters. We loved watching the colours separate into amazing designs. Using an eye dropper helps with our fine motor skills. It helps with our hand-eye coordination, control and builds finger strength.

First Library Class

We had our first library class today! Please see the note in your child's communication folder. It has future library dates and some important information. Happy reading. 😊📕

Pattern Work

Image
We have been learning all about patterns. We practice making them out of manipulatives. We colour them and we even paint them. There are patterns all around us! It is a good idea to practice and point out patterns at home too.
